I am a Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering at IIIT-Delhi. My research is at the interactions of mobile computing and human-computer interaction with a focus on translational research.

Pushpendra Singh is a seasoned computer scientist with strong expertise at the intersection of mobile computing, human–computer interaction (HCI), and ICT initiatives for social good. His work emphasizes user-centered and participatory design, bridging academic research, technology development, and real-world societal impact.
He has contributed to establishing new academic departments and research centres, driving innovation in digital systems for public benefit. Over years of work with international institutions and through major grants, his research has supported public-health technology deployment, mobile-learning platforms, and middleware for pervasive computing.

- Founding Head, Centre for Design & New Media, IIIT-Delhi (Aug 2018 – Feb 2020) — established the centre with a grant of USD 4 million (≈ INR 25 Crore), building a multidisciplinary team and policy/program frameworks.
- Founding Head, Dept. of Human-Centered Design, IIIT-Delhi — launched a new undergraduate program (Computer Science & Design) and steered faculty recruitment including high-profile hires.
- Prior academic and research roles in Europe and UK: including work at Inria (France), Culture Lab (Newcastle, UK), and University of Portsmouth (UK) — contributing to mobile middleware, pervasive computing, and location-aware system research.
